Sr. Mary Henry – Building Co-ordinator
I became involved with the MS North West Therapy Centre in 1993, when I was offered the post of Manager of the service on a secondment basis. Prior to that, I worked as Occupational Therapy Manager with the HSE. In 1993 I worked with four other staff to build the service into a support and treatment facility, ensuring at all times the importance of involving the service users and the management group in discussions round developments at the service.
I returned to the HSE in 2001 and assumed a role as Disability Manager with the Physical and sensory disability group. As the MS Centre was under the remit of the Physical and Sensory service I continued to support the developments there.
On leaving the HSE in 2010, the MS Centre Board of Directors approached me and asked if I would be interested in co-ordinating the new proposed respite project. I accepted this challenge and have moved the project to the stage of the planning application.
Over the years whether working directly with the group or otherwise I have found the organisation very professional and caring and willing to meet the challenges of providing an excellent health care facility.
